Welcome to the new home page of the Kaamospelit festival!

Kaamospelit, the Vantaa folk music week, celebrates its 20 years anniversary this year. A new association has been founded to organize the festival and we also proudly present a new logo, designed by Meri Mort.

YHTÄ SOITTOA

Folk music groups from Vantaa and the neighbor cities and groups from the Vantaa music institutet perform in the shopping center.

Sunday 14.11. at 10 Tikkurila church, Asematie 12
FOLK SONG CHURCH

Church service, where the songs are sung to the melodies of familiar folk songs. In Finnish. Liturg: Janne Silvast assisting priest Kristiina Kartano, cantor/piano Simo Santaranta. Vantaan kansanpelimannit accompanies.

HENRIKSSON, KLEEMOLA & PRAUDA

The Henriksson-Kleemola-Prauda-trio combines folk music and baroque music in a new way, with such rare instruments as cembalo, baroque violin, cittern and Finnish bagpipes.

KAAMOS CLUB: LEPISTÖ & LEHTI, HOT’N’TOT

The internationally acclaimed Lepistö & Lehti -duo brings together two top names in Finnish acoustic music: accordionist Markku Lepistö and bass player Pekka Lehti. Hot'n'Tot plays American and home made folk with a pitiless groove.

Tallari & Kaustisen Purppuripelimannit perform compositions by Konsta Jylhä. This year we celebrate the 100th anniversary of his birth.

Vantaan kansanpelimannit in Dallapé atmosphere. Kantele group from Vantaa music institute, teacher Mervi Yli-Vainio. Host Inkeri Simola-Isaksson.
